Wineries We Love
It will come as no surprise to you that wine is one of the things we love most at the Oxford Wine Company. And with Valentine's Day on the way, we thought we'd dedicate February 2021 to four wineries we love.
Maison Ventenac is a family affair. Established in 1973 by Alain Maurel and his father, the estate is now in the hands of the third generation. Stéphanie, the eldest of Alain Maurel's three daughters, arrived with her husband, Olivier Ramé in 2010 to take over the estate and revamp its image. Thanks to his extensive training in wine-growing and oenology, Olivier succeeded in combining the old world heritage, passed down by his father-in-law, with the new world spirit.

Half an hour outside of the Medieval city of Carcassonne, in the town of Brugairolles, lies Domaine Gayda. Founded by friends and business partners Anthony Record and Tim Ford, Gayda is an award-winning wine producer with its heart in the Languedoc.

Based in the comune of Gagliole, the Antico Podere Gagliole is owned by Thomas and Monika Bär-Bettschart, a husband-and-wife team, who were captured by the beauty of Chianti Classico and purchased the estate in 1990.
