Sensational Spain Thursday 19/06/14
Hosted by Lee Isaacs.
The Oxford Wine Company, 165 Botley Road, Oxford, OX2 0PB.
This was a superb tasting with plenty of humour, really great wines and even a little bit of Stairway To Heaven. I think Spain is one of the most interesting wine producing countries in the world with so much of it feeling undiscovered. Of course we all know Rioja but there is just so much more. My plan was to show some of the best Spanish wines on our shelves and I succeeded. There was not a single weak wine in the line up with every single one showing perfectly. The big hit however was the Scala Dei Priorat showing complexity, depth and just how good Spain can be!
