- Zuccardi wines expresses the essence of the soils and the extreme climate conditions and altitude in which the vineyards are planted. The growth and development of the Zuccardi range was led by Sebastián Zuccardi, who has committed to elaborate wines with unique identity through the exploration of the terroir in the Uco Valley, and in recognition of his commitment the International Wine Challenge awarded him the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016
Since 2008 the winery has a Research and Development area and team, dedicated to the study of the terroir and the different variables that affect wine quality. The aim, in the words of Sebastian, is "not to seek perfect wines, but those who express the place, the region".
The combination of multiple microclimates in their vineyards - Piedra Infinita, Canal Uco, Los Membrillos, Vista Flores, San Pablo, Santa Rosa combined with varying altitudes, types of soil and the care of the vineyard, results in multiple terroirs. Zuccardi uses their knowledge to interpret each faithfully and express the essence of their origin and the unique and perfect combination of climate, soil, altitude and human interaction.
Familia Zuccardi practice sustainable viticulture, and moreover have certified 35% of their vineyards as organic.
Dark and intense with a dark fruit character, backed by chocolate and oak spice. The finish is long and velvety. Drinking very well now and will develop still further if given more time.
- 'A refined and savoury red, featuring notes of white pepper to the cherry and crushed red plum flavours. Lengthens out on the palate, with medium-grained tannins. Silky finish.' - Wine Spectator
