- Scala Dei is the most important winery in the Priorat region. It is after the prior of the monastery that the region took it's name. The monks established vineyards here in the twelfth century. Today Scala Dei (meaning Ladder of God) make incredibly concentrated and focused wines.
This wine is big, powerful and robust yet also elegant. A complex nose of woodspices, raisins, brambles and also minerality lead to a full bodied palate with fine smokey tannins and clean refreshing acidity. This is a serious wine that needs time to be savoured.
