- Finca Quara are produced by Familia Felix Lavaque who boast a 140 year history and five generations of winemakers. Based in the Cafayate Valley in Salta, Argentina's highest growing area, their vineyards are located close by in the neighbouring Calchaquí Valley which constitutes one of the highest terroirs in the world, with vineyards perched at altitudes of between 5,200 feet and 6,500 feet in Salta, Argentina, These extreme heights offer perfect growing conditions for expressive fruit development and have all the advantages of very cool climate growing conditions. Here Quara grow Torrontés, Malbec, Tannat, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and the Bonarda grape varieties.
Firm and structured tannins, excellent damson and plum fruit and well judged oak come together in this Malbec which is full bodied, complex and intensely satisfying.
- "A classic example of high vineyard, ultra cool climate growing conditions, this Quara Special Selection Malbec shows expressive, highly aromatic fruit and flavours of blackberry, plum, and black cherry. Impressive wine" - Amanda Barnes, Award-winning Wine & Travel Journalist.
