Hand harvested grapes are selected on the table before cold maceration.Fermentation is carried out at 26-28% for 20 days. Malolactic fermentation is realised in tanks.
Tasting Note The deep red colour of this wine is combined with the intensity of dark berry and ripe red fruit aromas, further enhanced by the mouth filling medium long finish.

Kataro is made by Grigor Avetissyan who is effectively the leader of the Artsakh winemakers and largely responsible for the Artsakh wine-festival every Autumn.From very small beginnings he is building a first class reputation for the authenticity of his wines.
Domaine Avetissyan is located on a picturesque hillside in a lush region of Hadrut in the Republic of Nagorno Karabagh(Artsakh). Named after an ancient church located in the village of Togh, Kataro is produced from Khnodgny (also known as Sireni) an indigenous grape variety .Modern wines from a truly ancient wine-growing region.Every Autumn the Artsakh wine festival takes place nearby which is a wonderful gathering of local people and international wine lovers!
