- Castello di Bossi is a large Tuscan estate of more than 600 hectares (124 of these under vine), currently receiving some rave critical reviews for its wines. Michael Palij MW of Winetraders (the UK importer) sums them up well in his list: Theyre a bit flashy, but hard to resist. Brothers Marco and Maurizio Bacci are in control here at this idyllic-looking Tuscan property. Their vineyards are planted with Sangiovese and 40 year old Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, making the estate amongst the first in Chianti Classico to produce a range of Super Tuscans made from classic grape varieties.
Rich, savoury herby fruit on the nose. Good concentration of savoury fruit on the palate with firm spicy tannins and good acidity. Good concentration and reasonably complex, with potential for further development. Excellent.
