- Boschendal can be traced all the way back to 1685 when Huguenot Jean de Long ceded the estate. As is typical with many old South African producers, Boschendal has had its ups and downs and seen many different owners come and go. In 1976 the estates manor house was declared a national monument. Today Boschendal is as strong as ever and in 2004 Boschendal was named South African Wine Grower of the year. The vision at Boschendal is to balance tradition and experience with contemporary innovation to produce classic wines with a measured modern new world attitude. Boschendal are a leader in the production of focused and flavoursome wines, and also of the Capes Méthode Cap Classique sparkling wines.
Boschendal are committed to sustainable viticulture, using biological farming practices aimed at increasing biodiversity in their vineyards. They are IPW certified, and are increasingly using organic methods of pest control.
A stunningly created South African pink sparkling wine made from mostly Chardonnay and Merlot grapes. The end result is a sparkling wine with splendid red-fruit flavours and a refreshing finish.
