This Mediterranean blend of Grenache, Petite Sirah and Mourvedre, heavily influenced by Chilean winemaking, demonstrates Bodega Volcanes de Chile's efforts to rescue the inherent value of the volcanic soils of the Rapel, Maipo and Maule valleys and to bring to light the characteristics and development of these new varieties in these areas. The vineyards are located in emblematic terroirs composed of volcanic, igneous and intrusive rocks that have been formed by volcanic activity during geological periods over millions of years through to the present day. Aged in French oak barrels for 12 months (20% New).
A modern twist of the classic Rhone blend, replacing the Syrah with Petite Sirah aka Durif. A well structured mix of raspberries, plums and blackberries work well in harmony with a prominent flavour of smoke and rocky minerality. Well integrated tannins and a refreshing acidity.
