- Bodegas Beronia is situated in Ollauri, in the Rioja Alta, and is quintessentially classic Rioja. Its wines are defined by the region and the soils in which the vines are grown, and its name linked to the history of the land where the winery is found. In the 3rd Century BC the area known as Rioja today was inhabited by a celtic tribe called the 'Berones'. They inhabited the towns of Tricio, Varea and Leiva, marking the limits of the Berones region, today La Rioja. The founding ethos of Beronia is strongly allied to the origins of La Rioja.
Beronia Viñas Viejas Tempranillo is a deep black plum colour. It is attractive on the nose, displaying prominent aromas of red fruit such as plum, sweet spice and vanilla - over a very pleasant background of roast coffee. The wine is fresh and balanced on the palate, with good weighty fruit. The most prominent flavours are of ripe fruit and roast coffee, with mild touches of cedar wood.
- "Shows excellent rounded fruit and a nice touch of scent and spice which compliment the wine perfectly - exceptional" - DECANTER Magazine.
- Gold Medal - The International Wine Challenge.
