- The Albourne Estate is a new boutique producer of exciting and distinctive single estate English wines, located on the edge of the South Downs near Brighton.
Already highly regarded, their debut white wine range produced from the 2013 vintage has won multiple national and international awards and the 2014 range is repeating their success.
Made only from their own grapes and all produced on site their wines are truly reflective of each vintage and the unique location in Sussex. Plantings are on south facing slopes of free draining sandstone soil.
They are committed to sustainable practices in their vineyards.
This Blanc de Blancs is made from the highest quality 'cuvee' juice pressed from selected hand-picked Chardonnay grapes grown at Albourne Estate. As a wine of a single vineyard and single vintage it l reflects the nuances of place and weather patterns so creating a true 'terroir' wine.
The Albury Blanc de Blancs is a blend of 53% Chardonnay with 47% Seyval Blanc with it's signature stamp of aromatic fruit and floral hints on the nose. The palate on this is light, fresh and very English. The flavour has this 'freshly picked green apple from an English orchard' character, which is really appropriate.
