Malvasia Bianca is the head of the extensive Malvasia clan. It can be used in the production of dry, sparkling and sweet wines. Dry-style wines are clean, fresh and have good concentration of flavour. Off-dry or sweet styles show notes of honey and ripe pear. In the islands of Sardinia and Sicily, this grape is used for a Pasito style wine and in Chianti is blended with Trebbiano to produce Vin Santo.
