Originally associated with the South-West of France, this grape has found its home in Argentina. Wine made of Malbec is a great alternative to Syrah and Cabernet-Sauvignon based wines. In Argentina, expect wines with flavours of black cherry and plum with notes of chocolate and violet depending on the ageing in oak. In France, the wines have flavours of currants and black plum with higher acidity and moderate tannins.
