Barbera

Its home is Piemonte and at it performs best in Asti, Alba and Monferrato. Its origins can be traced to 1798 in an official document by the Agrarian Society of Turin. When young, the wines have cherry notes, high acidity and low tannins. When matured in oak and bottle it takes a denser sour-cherry note with added plum characteristics.
