A Weekend Of Riesling Saturday 19/07/14
Hosted by The Countess Patricia
The Oxford Wine Company, 165 Botley Road, Oxford, OX2 0PB.
I am a huge fan of both Riesling and German wines in general and so I always jump at the chance to run any promotion in conjunction with Wines of Germany. Every July we feature various German wines in an effort to change hearts and minds...it's not all Blue Nun and Black Tower any more!
Having our very own German Countess to run this free drop in tasting really added some magic and helped the wines and the country seem even more real. We showed three Rieslings, all slightly different in style, in an effort to convey just how exciting the variety can be. The most popular was the off-dry Leitz from the Rheinhessen that had plenty of lime fruit and a note of minerality.
