- Other info: Varichon et Clerc are loacated in the alpine region of Savoie, between Lyon and Geneva. They have been producing classic `Methode Champenoise` wines since 1901, using many local grape varieties, along with Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc, to produce a wide range of elegant sparkling wines. Much of the Savoie area is mountainous, allowing very little room for land possible to farm. Despite that, and the Alpen foothill’s huge climate extremes, the region has a growing reputation for crafting intriguing wines from local and international varieties; vibrant whites being the most noteworthy. The sparkling wines of Varichon are not just elegant, refined and flavoursome, they also represent exceptional value for money.
