- Other info: Pikes was founded in 1878 by Englishman Henry pike, and is still has a large involvement of his ancestors, with his great great grandchildren Andrew and Neil now running the winemaking and marketing side of things. Pikes established themselves in relatively cool-climate Clare Valley in 1984 and specialise in Viognier. Today Pikes produces approximately 35, 000 cases. This wine is a perfect example of New World creativity, being a blend of Riesling, Viognier, Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc. Each variety really contributes something to the overall wine. This is not only thoroughly enjoyable, but great value.
