- Other info: Since Riebeek Cellars first opened their doors in 1941 in Riebeek Kasteel, at the foot of Bothma's Kloof Pass, it has evolved into the well-known winery that it is today. Even 70 years ago wine producers recognised the great viticultural potential of Kasteelberg and its surrounding areas with its multi-diversified terroirs and microclimates. This medium-sized winery on the western coast of the Cape Province of South Africa sources its grapes from the fertile Riebeek Valley and the slopes of the mountain where the climate is very similar to the Mediterranean. Their wines are defined by the unique character of this terroir and the low yielding bushvines planted, enabling Winemaker Eric Saayman and Cellar Master, Zakkie Bester, to produce wines that offer richness of flavour and mouthwatering fruit.
