- Other info: Heredad de Sao Miguel was acquired by Alexander Grasses in 1997, the estate is located in the municipality of Redondo and has about 175 ha in total of which 35 ha of vineyards are planted on clay and loam soils derived from shale. It also has 97 ha of cork oak trees, planted between 1998 and 1999. 'Ciconia' is the Latin name for the white stork whose main habitat is the forests and woods of Alentejo. Most of the storks migrate during the autumn to Africa, and return to Alentejo in December to make their nests.
