- Other info: Chateau Moulin de Curat originated in the early 20th century, and has been in the Robin family for generations. Since 1980, there has been a significant expansion and restructuring of the vineyard. The location is Puisseguin St Emilion, one of 4 satellite villages to St Emilion that are allowed to bear the town’s name in parenthesis. A 28.5 hectare estate, situated NW of St Emilion. As one would expect from a Right Bank wine so close to St Emilion, the chateau’s blend is predominantly Merlot, and this is reflected in the plantings – 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and a mere 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The soil is heavily clay-based, with little limestone, and works particularly well with the majority Merlot grape. Average age of vines is 26 years.
