- Tormore Distillery was founded in 1958, and was the first new distillery to be built in Speyside during the 20th century. Tormore was intended to be a ?showpiece?, the distillery has crisp white buildings with ornate features, a fountain and curling lake and decorative landscaping. In the 1970?s the numbers of stills was increased from four to eight
This malt whisky is aged in refill sherry butts. This shows through on the nose with toasted nutty aromas. Some summer berries are also present as well as marzipan. The palate is smooth and creamy regaining some of its nutty vigor but supported by a chocolate richness. Another great dram from this range which takes on completely different notes when water is added.
