- Evanston, IL was a dry city for over 100 years due the fact that many advocates of Prohibition hailed from this small city just north of Chicago. Thankfully FEW's master distiller overturned century-old prohibition laws to become Evanston's first distiller of grain spirits within the city limits, in the process of doing so they named their company after Frances Elizabeth Willard, a key figure in the Temperance Movement.
FEW pride themselves on being a true craft distiller, having complete control over production of their spirits right the way up until distribution.
A wonderfully assembled bourbon using three different grains. Being a bourbon corn is the dominant flavour with toffee popcorn and caramel at the forefront, this is then expertly blended with rye flavours like cloves, cinnamon and cardamom, with a subtle proportion of the blend being corn a delicate smoothness is detected.
- 'Hailing from Evanston, Illinois, FEW Bourbon is packed full of toffee, clove, vanilla and warming spice goodness and presented in a striking bottle adorned with a label showing off some local heritage - namely a scene from the Chicago World's Fair of 1892.
This spirit, distilled using timeless liquor-making techniques, utilises a three-grain recipe that infuses generations of Southern tradition with the spiciness of northern rye and a touch of malt for smoothness.
FEW is handcrafted through a small-batch process in charred oak barrels to age its bourbon whiskey. The result is a vibrant bourbon filled to the brim with character.' Tomé Morrisy-Swan, The Telegraph, June 2018
