A perfumed floral nose reminiscent of violets and lavender, along with the classic black pepper aroma typical of cold-climate Syrahs. Subtle touches of incense, hazelnuts, and coffee add to the overall complexity. On the palate it is lively and refreshing with delicious red and black fruit notes that recall strawberries, blueberries and murtilla and combine with the incense and pepper aromas to produce a wine that is complex, juicy, and expressive. With its firm yet fine, ripe tannins, this wine will only increase in complexity and depth as it ages.

Press:
'Elegant blue fruit, dark plum and violet aromas enhanced by a toasty, spicy note. A powerful Syrah yet very pure, with an amazing palate boasting savoury dark fruit and black pepper backed by a fine salinity and juicy acidity. A tangy, delicious Syrah to keep a few years in the cellar if you can resist.' - Decanter, 2016

'Inky fruit and dark pepper on the nose and palate joined by toasty oak. An elegantly savoury, midweight style. Drink 2016-2019. 88 points' Peter Richards MW for Decanter Magazine September 2015
Awards:
Gold Medal - Decanter World Wine Awards 2016

Food match:

This Syrah manages to match complexity with elegance and some weight. Don't lose this by matching it with overly complex food: simply grilled lamb chops would do the job very nicely.
