Vinhos Barbeito was founded in 1946 by Mario Barbeito de Vasconcelos, and to this day is still family owned and operated. Today the company is run by Mario's daughter, Manuela de Vasconcelos and continues to go from strength to strength. Barbeito has built its business and reputation not just on the sheer quality of the wines, but also by nurturing the long held relationships they have with every single one of their customers. This is a family run business through and through. Barbeito have three individual ageing warehouse across the island, each giving the wines stored in them very different characters. As a result of this, their range is one of the most complex and interesting of all the islands producers.
