We are delighted to be collaborating with Pol Roger this November to put on a dinner in The Gallery at The Old Bank Hotel.
We all know Pol Roger for their delicious Champagne (which, naturally, will be served as an aperitif on arrival), but did you know that they also act as an agency for some seriously high quality producers?
With that in mind, we’ll be pairing some fabulous wines with a specially chosen menu. We’ll begin with bubbles – the Pol Roger Brut Reserve NV (retail price £44.50). The starter will be accompanied by Alsace legends Josmeyer’s Mise de Printemps Pinot Blanc 2018 (retail price . A family-run estate producing highly acclaimed terroir-driven biodynamic wines, the Josmeyer philosophy is ‘the pursuit of excellence in harmony with the earth’
For the main course, we’ll be moving on to a comparison of two white Burgundies from the wonderful Joseph Drouhin. This is another family-run estate, working with organic and biodynamic techniques, ‘bringing natural answers to natural problems’. We’ll be pouring the Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir 2015 (retail price £59.99) and the Puligny-Montrachet 2016 (retail price £61.99).
Naturally, we’ll finish with something sweet – the Grand Tokaj Aszú 5 Puttonyos 2013 (retail price £32.99)
Remember that the prices quoted above are for retail - so these wines would be much more costly if purchased in a normal restaurant setting!
A set menu will be served, but dietary requirements will be catered for.
