Vineyards don’t get more idyllic sounding than those of Château Léoube. Situated among the olive groves of Provence where the warmth of the sun is moderated by breezes coming in from the Mediterranean Sea; surrounded by lush vegetation of rosemary, heather, sage and lavender: this is a viticulturalist’s dream.
The estate is owned by the Bamford family, who are also the founders of Gloucestershire’s Daylesford Estate, one of the most sustainable farms in the UK. The Bamfords are passionate about environmentally friendly farming and wished to bring this natural approach to Léoube. The winemaker at Léoube is Romain Ott, who is the fourth in a line of winemakers who are part of the fabric of Provence with their own estate at Domaine Ott.
Wine at Léoube is made following a back-to-basics philosophy, strengthening the land’s biodiversity and natural defences by employing traditional growing methods and using only natural, non-toxic treatments. As such, all grapes are harvested by hand, in tune with the seasonal and lunar cycles.
Join us in our Turl Street Cellar as Léoube’s Jerome Pernot takes us through a selection of six wines, including sparkling, red, white and of course rosé. This promises to be a fantastic evening – we’ll see you there!
