Mark and Sarah Driver established Rathfinny Estate in 2010. Following a successful career in the City heading up a hedge fund, Mark decided that it was time for a change in direction. He left his job, and took a course in viticulture at Brighton University. The couple planted their first vines at Rathfinny in 2012, with the bold intention of making some of the world's best sparkling wine.
Rathfinny occupies an ideal spot for winemaking - a sunny, chalky slope. The estate is located just three miles from the sea, in the heartland of English winemaking: Sussex. In fact, the estate was the first to be accredited with the Sussex PDO. It is part of the Rathfinny vision that in years to come, a glass of Sussex will hold equal kudos as a glass of Champagne all over the world.
The Estate comprises a state of the art winery and visitor centre, and will be the largest single estate wine producer in England. The winery is capable of producing no less than a million bottles of wine per vintage!
Rathfinny's focus is traditional method sparkling wine, and as such they produce a Blanc de Blancs and a Rosé. However, the estate also produces a still wine from Pinot Gris, as well as a Gin and a Vermouth.
